Apply First Aid to Dogs in a Remote/Regional Setting

This course is designed for everyday dog owners and industry workers who may need to perform dog first aid in a Remote/Regional Setting. Participants will learn essential skills for canine emergency care, and no previous first-aid experience or veterinary knowledge is required.

Be ready to help your dog before you can reach a vet.

Do you own a family pet, adventure buddy, or working dog? Are you concerned about how to handle a canine emergency care situation during an emergency? Do you want to feel calmer and more prepared for any dog first aid needs? What you will be equipped to deal with after completing the remote regional course: Recognizing a health and/or emergency situation, preparing for an emergency, managing more emergencies than a typical human first aid course, effectively seeking veterinary attention, and having the knowledge and resources to address post-incident stress reactions. THIS COURSE IS NOT DESIGNED TO REPLACE PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY CARE - it is intended to help you safely and stably transport your canine from the point of injury to a veterinary clinic. Experience a realistic but supportive learning environment where some topics discuss real-world canine emergencies, which may be confronting. The material is delivered respectfully and with care, aiming to replace uncertainty with a practical plan. The course can also include human training: HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid (includes CPR), or HLTAID013 - Provide First Aid in a remote or isolated site.
